Interested in Volunteering?

Our volunteers are a dynamic network of women with different skills and experiences. Together, we help girls and young women to grow, explore, and believe in themselves.

We offer different volunteer opportunities:

  • leading or helping with your local Guide Unit on a weekly basis
  • taking on a leadership role within a management team
  • occasional skills-based volunteering (e.g. lead a photography class at a Unit meeting)

If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer with us, complete the online enquiry form or phone 03 6244 4408.

Who are the Leaders?

Leaders begin their journey at Girl Guides Tasmania as volunteers who may then choose to become a member of Girl Guides Tasmania as they value the importance of our Mission, Purpose and Values - sharing their time and talents to help girls grow and learn.  All Leaders are provided training to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out their roles. Leaders come from all walks of life, and all family and working situations, and work in a team coordinated by the District Manager.  All Leaders attain an accredited Leadership qualification the Australian Leaders Qualification Passport and are able to build on this accreditation with Outdoors Qualifications.

All Adult members and volunteers are required to conduct Child Safe Child Friendly training, stay up to date with the relevant policies and procedures, consent to maintaining updated background checks (including a National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Registration and commit to our Code of Conduct
