Nindethana Camp House

Deviot - West Tamar

The Nindethana Camp site is situated on the West Tamar Highway approximately 30 km from Launceston adjacent to the Tamar River. It is a sunny, tranquil bush setting with plenty to do and see both onsite and off.

The camp house offers cosy bunkrooms, with 40 bunks in all. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for self catering. The separate dining room, with wood heater, can seat up to 40 and the adjacent Wilkins Room is a bright sunny room suitable for a range of indoor activities. The bathroom offers modern amenities with facilities for the disabled. A wide sunny verandah overlooks the river, ideal for outdoor activities.

Outdoor areas are cleared with level areas for campers, with water, and outdoor amenities and cooking fire bases provided. The lodge, a separate hut with rustic facilities is available for booking.

A 4sq.m free standing tree house is available for the camper looking for adventure. - pre bookings a must.

An outdoor adventure trail set among the trees, along with indoor activity ideas and equipment are available.

A permanent orienteering course is set amongst the bush, with courses for the experience and the inexperienced.

Off site activities include the nature trail along the Supply River which continues to the historic Supply River Flour Mill ruins and the surrounding reserve. Further along the river to Paper Beach is a coastal walk of about 2.5 km.

Other offsite activities include - mini-golf, sailing, wineries, Batman Bridge, gold mine museum, sea horses and the Howell Gorge.

Nindethana is available for bookings for Guide groups, Scout groups, church groups and family groups.
