The Support Group is made up of parents and interested community members, including members of Guiding who do not have a leadership role

Support Groups

Support Groups are parents, grandparents, carers, guardians or just keen people over 18 years of age who assist the Leaders and District Managers to provide Guiding for the Guides.

This section of the website contains key information and resources to help Support Group members.

Child Protection

Girl Guides Tasmania values Child Protection and complies by seeking all adult Volunteers who work with children to obtain a National Police Check prior to commencement. All Leaders also complete a Keeping Children Safe orientation in relation to policies and procedures regarding the protection of children from abuse. It is recommended that Support Group members obtain their Keeping Children Safe training to enable them to assist with Guide activities, camps and fundraising events when girls are present. Your District Manager can help you with forms and training opportunities.
